Cory Fernandes, D.O., a family medicine physician, received his undergraduate education at the University of California, Davis, and his medical education at Touro University Nevada, College of Osteopathic Medicine in Henderson. He completed his residency as part of the first class of the Laredo Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Program in 2021.
Dr. Fernandes has a special interest in sports and muscular skeletal injuries, as well as preventative medicine for the pediatric, adolescent and adult populations. His passion is in treating active and athletic individuals and helping to prevent sports- and exercise-induced injuries. He also enjoys helping patients improve their health and wellness, both physical and mental. His goal is to provide as complete an experience as possible for his patients and help them seek any specialty care that he may not be able to provide in his own office.
As a family practitioner, Dr. Fernandes has received training in both acute care of injuries and chronic management of diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and thyroid diseases.
Services offered will include annual physicals, pre-participation sports physicals, in-office EKGs, skin biopsies, suturing of small lacerations, skin tag removal, ingrown toenail removal, joint injections for the treatment of arthritis and Pap smears.
Dr. Fernandes looks forward to providing exceptional care in our community with patience and compassion. He is fluent in English and continues to improve his Spanish. Most insurance plans are welcome.
